🎓 Speaking Science Training: Be Advised!
The registration fee is waived for individuals part of the Plant B+B network, International Molecular Laboratory Training Programme (MOBIoLAB) and The Open Doors Fellowship Program (ODFP)
🚀 What You’ll Learn?
By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to:
🧭 Define a clear communication goal: Learn to communicate with purpose and intention.
👥 Understand audience segmentation: Who are you speaking to, and why should they care?
🔺 Build your message triangle: Stay focused and structured throughout your message.
📣 Use media effectively: Navigate both social and traditional media to share your story.
🧠 Harness your personal narrative: Discover the power of storytelling and make your science relatable.
🏛️ Engage in science diplomacy: Influence policy by communicating with decision-makers.
🕒 Time Commitment & Participation
📩 No-shows without a valid justification (e.g., a medical certificate or a written note from your supervisor) will be excluded from any Plant B+B training for 6 months.📝 Outside the Classroom:
You’ll need to allocate an additional 2–3 hours/week to complete assignments and readings.
✅ Certificates of Completion will be granted to participants who:
- Attend at least 80% of the sessions
- Submit 80% of the assignments
- Provide written justification for any absence
❗ Cancellation Policy:
Your participation matters! If you register, we expect your full engagement.
🚫 If you can’t attend at the start of the course, notify us at IPBO@vib-ugent.be at least one week in advance. No-shows without a valid justification (e.g. medical certificate or written note from your supervisor) will be excluded from any Plant B+B training for 6 months.
🎯 Please think twice: if you don’t attend, someone else misses the chance to benefit. If you’re facing challenges, let us know early so we can offer the slot to another candidate.
