Oana Dima

Oana obtained a PhD in Plant Biology from VIB-Plant System Biology in Ghent (Belgium). Her knowledge on genome editing of crops and her interest in policy making led her to her current position as Science Policy manager at VIB. In her daily work, she follows up on European and International policies important for plant improvement using genome editing technology. In a common advocacy approach, she facilitates the activities of the European Sustainable Agriculture through Genome Editing (EU-SAGE) network, which consists of more than 150 research institutes and associations across Europe. Moreover, she is contributing to the policies for the application of genome editing in plants and enabling the transition to more sustainable agriculture in Europe.
