Marianna Decet

I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in molecular neurobiology, which I obtained from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and VIB-Center for Brain and Disease Research. It might seem that I do not have much in common with a plant biotech team beside having transformed my apartment in a greenhouse, but my preparation in molecular biology and my eagerness to contribute to the development of scientific and educational capacity in Africa led me to join IPBO.

I am currently working on the MoBiLab project, which I first joined as a volunteer teacher during my PhD. I contributed to the delivery of the basic molecular biology training at partner African universities and I am now developing an hands-on-course on molecular cloning.
