Anne Muia is a Senior Biosafety Officer working with the National Biosafety Authority, Kenya. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, a Master’s degree in Biotechnology and is a PhD candidate in Biotechnology, at Kenyatta University. Her primary work responsibilities include risk assessment activities as well as regulatory documents for ensuring and assuring biosafety in relation to modern biotechnology in Kenya. She has previously worked as a research student at KEMRI-CDC and at BecA-ILRI Hub. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, observing nature and learning new things. She speaks three languages: English, Swahili and Kamba.
